Alaska Department of Commerce, Community & Economic Development (DCCED) / Alaska Industrial Development & Export Authority (AIDEA)
Administers Alaskan economic development support through grant, loan, and advisory programs for businesses and regional growth.
Alaska’s state development landscape combines the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community & Economic Development (DCCED) and the Alaska Industrial Development & Export Authority (AIDEA) as separate but related entities in economic development finance.
Within DCCED, active grant channels include the Alaska SBIR/STTR Matching Grant (up to $100,000), Community Development Block Grants (up to $850,000), NPR-A Impact Mitigation Grants, Designated Legislative Grants, and the Alaska Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment program administered through DCCED’s Alaska Broadband Office. These grant pathways are targeted to Alaska-based communities and businesses and are not directed to individual applicants.
AIDEA is a distinct public corporation created in 1967 with a financing mission focused on loan instruments, including loan participation and credit-style support. Its programs and impact figures are reported separately from the grant pathways and include long-running participation in statewide economic development support.
