Knowledge Economy with AI Application
Funds Argentine private technology consortia building AI and data science solutions for export-oriented knowledge-economy companies.
The Knowledge Economy with AI Application call (Economía del Conocimiento con aplicación de IA) is a non-reimbursable grant program run by Argentina's Agencia Nacional de Promoción de la Investigación, el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (Agencia I+D+i) under its Apoyo I+D+i umbrella. The program is backed by international development financing and channeled through the Secretaría de Innovación, Ciencia y Tecnología. Each project can receive up to USD 500,000 in non-reimbursable funding (aportes no reembolsables) to cover up to 80% of total project costs. The remaining 20% must come from consortium members as counterpart funding. Amounts are disbursed in Argentine pesos at the official exchange rate on disbursement date. Eligible applicants are Consorcios Tecnológico-Productivos (CTPs) — structured technology-productive consortia. Two paths exist: (1) a public-private CTP including at least one national public sector entity promoting tech development in areas relevant to the call; or (2) a fully private CTP including at least one private Argentine company with demonstrable activity in knowledge-economy sectors. Private companies in AI, software, digital content, biotechnology, nanotechnology, advanced manufacturing, or aerospace can lead or join a private CTP directly. Applications are submitted through the Trámites a Distancia (TAD) platform. Applicants must first register in the Registro de Potenciales Beneficiarios before submitting. The 2026 round was launched in February 2026 and closed for applications; a future cycle is expected given the program's mandate to strengthen Argentina's export-oriented tech sectors. Key caveat: disbursements are in Argentine pesos, so the USD 500,000 cap is nominal and subject to currency fluctuation. Consortia must demonstrate a track record in knowledge-economy activities and provide a detailed project plan with measurable outputs.
