FFG Diversity Cheque

FFG Diversity Cheque sits under the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and gives Austrian SMEs in natural sciences and technology a small entry point into diversity, equity and inclusion work. The programme is built around a one-topic project run with an external DEI expert, and it is intended as an early step rather than a large organisational overhaul. It offers a non-repayable de minimis grant capped at EUR 10,000, covering 80% of eligible costs up to EUR 12,500. Eligible topics include diversity analysis, building diversity competence, recruiting and HR, mentoring, a Gender Equality Plan, or an open category. Applications are rolling through eCall until the budget is exhausted, and follow-on activity can move into DIVERSITEC. The fit is narrow by design: applicants need to be Austrian SMEs in the natural sciences and technology space, and the funding only covers the external third-party DEI service. That makes the programme best for companies that want a first concrete intervention rather than a broad culture-change package.
