Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)AustriaGrant + loan

FFG General Programme is the Austrian Research Promotion Agency's open-topic route for company-led R&D. It funds projects up to the prototype stage, with FFG evaluating both the technical challenge and the commercial potential, and the current call page shows the 2026 cycle under the broader General Programme umbrella. The financing mix can be a grant, a low-interest loan, or a guarantee, with support reaching up to 70% of eligible project costs and a ceiling of EUR 3 million per project. Submission is rolling, decisions are taken in several board meetings each year, and startups receive a higher intensity with deferred loan repayment and an extra bonus for high-tech startups. The best fit is an Austrian company with a concrete R&D plan, a clear implementation path, and enough technical ambition to justify expert review. Cooperation with universities or other companies is allowed, but the program is designed for firms that can translate innovation into marketable products or services and keep the project inside Austria.

Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
