Rail4Climate 2026 is Klimafonds' FTI (Forschung/Technologie/Innovation) program for rail digitalization and automation research, aligned to Austria's Industriestrategie 2035. The program targets productivity and capacity gains in railway infrastructure alongside a decarbonized mobility shift — addressing one of nine key technology areas ('Mobilitätstechnologien') in Austria's industrial strategy. Target applicants include research organisations, businesses, and other eligible entities working on rail-sector innovations. The 2026 call window is 2026-04-14 to 2026-09-16 with a total budget of €2 million.
