Prospecting Trip Outside the EEA (Prospectiereis Buiten EER)
Supports subsidy covering forfait travel and accommodation costs for Flemish small businesses prospecting non EEA markets.
Prospectiereis Buiten EER is FIT's travel-and-accommodation subsidy for Flemish SMEs and business organizations exploring non-EEA markets where they have little existing presence. It covers market-development trips, including individual business visits, group travel, trade-fair participation, and investment visits. Support is paid at FIT forfait rates, at 50% for standard applicants and 75% for first-time or infrequent applicants with fewer than four prior approvals since September 2005. Only one company representative per trip is supported, and multi-destination trips are reduced by 40% for each additional destination. Applications must be filed through MyFIT at least seven days before departure, and FIT targets a decision within 60 days. After approval, applicants have three months to submit travel reports and cost documentation. The best fit is a company with a clear market-entry rationale and enough evidence to show that the trip will create value for Flanders' economy. It is also useful when one trip has to test buyers, partners, or distribution channels before larger export spend is committed.
