Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT)
Supports Flemish export growth by promoting international trade and attracting foreign investment for regional businesses.
Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) is the Flemish Government agency for export promotion and inward investment. It serves companies and organizations based in Flanders, markets Flemish innovation abroad and runs a large international network, with more than 70 offices worldwide and 320 staff. In 2022 it supported exports worth €479 billion and facilitated 278 foreign investment projects.
Most of its work is advisory, through market intelligence, country specialists, trade missions and matchmaking, but it also runs six direct subsidy routes. Those support export starter packages, custom international projects, trade fair participation, prospecting trips outside the EEA, foreign prospecting offices and multilingual digital business communication, with awards ranging from €3,000 to €75,000 and the starter package fixed at €9,000.
The subsidy rules are tight: applicants must be compliant, the work must add value for Flanders, and most routes run through MyFIT with rolling or limited call windows. FIT does not fund R&D; that space sits with VLAIO, which makes FIT the right channel for export and international market development rather than innovation grants.
