FRS-FNRS Projects & Credits (PDR / CDR / MIS / EQP)
Funds university researchers in French-speaking Belgium through project and credit routes for competitive fundamental investigations.
FRS-FNRS Projects & Credits is the foundation's annual project call for researchers at French-speaking Belgian public universities. It bundles the main competitive instruments for ordinary research work: PDR, CDR, MIS, EQP, and the larger infrastructure track INFRA-GEQ. The instruments differ in both scale and purpose. PDR runs for two or four years and can cover staff, operating costs, and equipment, with a Weave route that opens international cooperation with partner agencies in Germany, Flanders, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and elsewhere. CDR runs for two years, with expenses extendable over four, and covers operating and equipment only, with no staff costs. MIS runs for three years and is aimed at early-career researchers building independence or a new research unit. EQP and INFRA-GEQ cover equipment and larger infrastructure needs. The 2026 submission window ran from 19 May to 7 July. The programme rewards proposals that match the instrument to the work plan instead of stretching one call to cover every need. Strong projects are those where staffing, equipment, or international partnership requirements are clear enough to justify the chosen route from the outset.
