Technology Leadership Program (TLP)
Runs DIGITAL's flagship co-investment program large collaborative technical innovation projects Canadian digital technology sectors.
The Technology Leadership Program is DIGITAL Technology Supercluster's flagship co-investment stream for large collaborative R&D projects in Canadian digital technology sectors. It backs multi-partner work across health, natural resources, advanced manufacturing, and related areas, with DIGITAL acting as an active co-investor rather than a passive grant-maker. Cycle 6 brought $65 million CAD in DIGITAL co-investment against more than $200 million in total project value. The program requires a consortium, typically runs for 12 to 36 months, and is aimed at Canadian operations; international partners can participate, but they are not eligible for DIGITAL co-investment unless they have Canadian operations. Intake was closed as of May 2026, so there is no open application window at present. The best fit is a well-structured consortium that can support a large project with clear Canadian activity and a workplan long enough to justify the scale. Applicants that align partners early, show a concrete use case, and frame the project around measurable delivery are better positioned when the next call opens.
