Next Generation Manufacturing CanadaCanadaGrant

Next Generation Manufacturing Canada's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program is NGen's flagship co-investment stream for Canadian industry consortia building transformative manufacturing capabilities. The 2025 intake closed on October 7, 2025, and project completion is required by January 31, 2028. Projects must fall between CAD 1.5M and CAD 8M in total cost, with NGen reimbursing up to 40% of eligible costs and up to CAD 3.2M per partner per project. Applicants need at least two Canadian partners, at least one SME, free NGen membership, and an incorporated Canadian business with real R&D or manufacturing presence; universities can appear as subcontractors, but not as the lead. NGen screens for work that is collaborative, transformative, applied, and enduring. The review path runs through eligibility screening, expert peer review, gateway assessment, notification, and contracting, so the strongest proposals arrive with a tight consortium, a budget that matches the delivery plan, and a clear route to commercialization.
