Technology Leadership Program
Supports Co-invest eligible costs on multi-partner plant-protein science innovation consortia across genetics crops ingredients and products.
The Technology Leadership Program (TLP) is PIC's flagship co-investment instrument for applied R&D and commercialization across four focus areas: Genetics (germplasm and novel varieties), Crops (sustainable on-farm production), Ingredients (plant-based ingredient development and scale-up), and Products (conversion of Canadian ingredients into consumer-ready goods). PIC reimburses up to 45% of eligible project costs; industry partners cover the remaining 55% or more. Projects must be incremental — they would not happen at the same scope or scale without PIC's co-investment. Intake is continuous for general TLP projects.
