Innosuisse Innovation Projects with Implementation Partner
Funds Swiss co-funded innovation projects by pairing implementation companies with research partners for market-ready development outcomes.
Innovation Projects with Implementation Partner is Innosuisse's flagship co-funding instrument. Innosuisse financially supports science-based innovation projects conducted jointly by industrial or institutional partners and a Swiss research partner. Together they can develop innovative products, services or processes across all thematic areas. As the implementation partner (SME, large company, start-up, administrative body, non-profit organisation, or other private/public institution), you create added value in Switzerland, assume 40–60% of total project costs incurred by your company, and contribute at least 5% of total project costs in cash to the research partner. The research partner must be a Swiss higher-education research centre, non-commercial research centre, policy research institution under Art. 16(3) RIPA, or federal research institute under Art. 17 RIPA. Innosuisse funds the research partner's costs directly. Research and implementation partners must be independent of each other in terms of financing and personnel. Applications are rolling — submit at least six weeks before the next Innovation Council subgroup meeting and the decision typically arrives within 6–8 weeks. Decisions are made in five thematic subgroups: ICT, Life Sciences, Engineering, Energy & Environment, Social Sciences & Business Management.
