Becas para El Cambio

Becas para El Cambio is MinCiencias’ flagship scholarship line, sitting under the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. In the 2026 cycle it replaced the ministry’s older national and international doctorate scholarship routes and covered national master’s study, national doctorates, and doctorates abroad. The 2026 call, Convocatoria 975, carried a budget of COP 279,588,000,000 and drew roughly 20,000 applicants. It is open to Colombian university graduates rather than organizations, and the foreign-doctorate route requires universities ranked in the Shanghai Top 500 or the QS Top 200 for arts and design fields. A regional Pacific variant ran alongside the national line. Applicants succeed when the degree plan matches one of the five national missions attached to the call: bioeconomy and territory, right to food, energy transition, health sovereignty, or science for peace. The strongest applications also show valid admission or enrollment status and fit cleanly into the ministry’s academic and mission-based rules, rather than trying to force a generic scholarship case into the program.
