Navigating Transformative AI — Capacity Building
Administers Navigating Transformative AI Capacity Building to support funding ai safety training programs events community groups field-building media.
This rolling program funds organizations and individuals building the AI safety field without funding direct technical research (which goes through the AI Governance or Technical AI Safety RFPs). Eligible activities include: training and mentorship programs (fellowships, internships, residencies, courses, bootcamps), events (conferences, retreats, workshops, hackathons), community groups (local/professional meetups, online groups), and resources/media (books, newsletters, podcasts, video). Applications are open until further notice and assessed on a rolling basis. Most decisions are made within approximately 3 months of receipt. Past grantees include BlueDot, MATS, ML4Good, FAR.AI, AI Safety Tokyo, and 80,000 Hours.
