GAČR POSTDOC Individual Fellowship — Incoming

Funds incoming postdoctoral researchers joining Czech institutions with three-year fellowships for collaborative fundamental inquiry.

GAČR POSTDOC Individual Fellowship Incoming supports postdoctoral researchers who come to Czech research institutions to carry out basic research. Under the Czech Science Foundation, it is the incoming half of the Postdoc Individual Fellowship line and has been in place since 2021. The program is aimed at building international mobility into Czech research groups rather than funding short visits. Fellowships last three years. Applicants need a PhD completed within the past four years, and they must have spent at least two of the last three years doing research abroad. The 2027 call followed the foundation's annual March deadline cycle, and the 2026 cohort funded 30 PIF projects across both tracks with CZK 145 million in total. It suits researchers who can bring a recent doctorate, a strong international record, and a Czech host that is ready to support a full three-year postdoctoral appointment. The incoming route works best when the project is clearly anchored in the Czech institution while still drawing on the applicant's work abroad.
