EUDP Main Programme

Supports Biannual Danish co grants for energy tech development and demonstration funding share.

EUDP Main Programme is Denmark's flagship Energy Technology Development and Demonstration route, administered by the Danish Energy Agency under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities. It backs pre-commercial energy projects and has a large national footprint: 2025 allocations reached DKK 628 million, and the programme has supported hundreds of projects since its 2007 launch. The main call runs twice a year, typically in spring and autumn, and it funds work from research through demonstration across TRL 2 to 8. Typical grants are DKK 2 million to DKK 15 million, with larger demonstration awards possible, and EUDP usually covers 40% to 60% of project costs. Danish-anchored companies, universities, and research teams can apply; foreign entities are eligible if they register in Denmark, and applications above DKK 3 million must be submitted in English. The strongest fit is an industry-led consortium that can move a named energy technology toward commercial demonstration in a few years. Projects usually run three to four years with three to five participants, so applicants need a credible technical plan, co-financing, and a clear route from development to deployment.
