Innovation Fund Denmark Grand Solutions
Backs large Danish research-industry consortia solving major societal and economic challenges.
Grand Solutions is Innovation Fund Denmark's flagship grant programme for large, ambitious, multi-partner research-and-innovation consortia. The programme invests in interdisciplinary projects that create new, specific solutions to major societal and economic challenges in Denmark. Grand Solutions consortia typically combine companies (SMEs and large), universities, and public organisations, with a minimum of 3 partners spanning research and industry. Project size is typically DKK 5 million to DKK 40 million, with the Fund covering up to 75 percent of total project costs for SMEs and research organizations and proportionally less for large enterprises under EU State Aid GBER rules. The 2026 cycle features themed calls: - **Critical and Digital Technologies** — minimum DKK 275.6 million total budget, with DKK 88M earmarked for Space, DKK 80M for AI, and DKK 10M for Defence. - **Green Technology and Innovation** — separate call with own budget envelope. - **Life Science, Health and Welfare Technology** — separate call with own budget envelope. Application is two-stage: Phase 1 open call (deadline 3 March 2026 for Critical and Digital Technologies), followed by invited Phase 2 (deadline 10 September 2026) for full proposals from shortlisted consortia. Investments are paid in arrears to the project Administrator based on submitted and approved financial reports.
