ITAC Collaborative Funded Projects (CFP)

Funds University industry science and innovation co-funding to convert innovative ICT concepts into market-ready products.

ITAC Collaborative Funded Projects (CFP) sits under ITIDA, Egypt's information technology development agency, as a university-industry co-funding route for ICT research that can move from concept to product. It is one of ITIDA's mature technology-transfer channels and is now in its 40th round. The program brings Egyptian companies and universities into joint projects aimed at commercially viable outcomes. The program supports two tracks. Preliminary Research Projects can run up to 12 months with funding up to EGP 700,000 for startups or EGP 350,000 for other applicants. Product Development Projects can run up to 18 months with support up to EGP 3 million, or up to EGP 5 million for electronics products ready for mass production. Companies may submit one proposal per round, and the principal investigator must hold a PhD with relevant publications or patents. The strongest fit is an Egyptian company with a university partner and a well-defined technical path from proof of concept to productization. The program rewards projects that are collaborative, milestone-driven, and ready for scrutiny from academic and commercial reviewers. Its public-facing structure is built for teams that can show a credible R&D case, a practical development plan, and a route to market.
