ICEX Next

ICEX Next is ICEX’s flagship internationalization program for Spanish SMEs and startups with export potential. It pairs a cash grant with individual advisory support and runs as a 24-month package per beneficiary. The grant can reach €24,000 and covers 60 percent of eligible internationalization costs, alongside 30 hours of expert advice from ICEX-accredited consultants. Eligible spending includes market research, promotion, commercial network development, and specialized personnel. The annual call is published in the autumn in Spain’s official gazette, with a short November application window; the 2025 cycle had a base allocation of €6 million for 250 beneficiaries, expandable to €7.2 million for 300. Applicants must be Spanish SMEs or startups with their own-brand products or services, a corporate website, and enough commercial capacity to manage export work, although the revenue floor is waived for new technology startups. The program is best suited to a company that is ready to turn a domestic product into a repeatable export motion. Prior participation in PIPE or ICEX Next is a disqualifier, so the route is aimed at first-time or carefully staged internationalization efforts. Teams that arrive with a branded offering, a target market, and someone responsible for export execution are the ones most likely to use the program well.
