CDTI Direct Innovation Line (Línea Directa de Innovación, LIC)

Funds CDTI Línea Directa de Innovación with loans for Spanish small and medium firms pursuing commercialization.

CDTI Línea Directa de Innovación (LIC) is CDTI's direct innovation loan for Spanish companies pursuing R&D and commercialization. It sits inside CDTI's national innovation financing toolkit and gives applicants a debt route rather than an equity or grant structure. Loan amounts run from EUR 16,450 to EUR 282,000, with rolling intake rather than a fixed annual window. Applicants must be registered and operating in Spain, and a consortium is not required. The route is built for company-led projects that can move from development into market use without a broader partnership structure, which makes it useful when speed matters more than assembling a network. The best fit is a business that can link the loan to a concrete development plan and a realistic repayment path. Strong submissions usually show how the project advances a specific product or process, why the timing matters, and how the company will absorb the financing within its operating model. That discipline matters because the loan is meant to push innovation forward without leaving the company underprepared for repayment.
