EIT Health Innovation Validation Call

Supports Consortium grants to accelerate clinical validation and CE mark regulatory approval for late stage digital and AI driven health innovations.

EIT HealthEUGrant

EIT Health Innovation Validation Call sits under EIT Health as a late-stage grant route for digital, data, and AI-enabled health innovations that need clinical validation, CE-mark regulatory approval, or preparation for commercial launch. The program is aimed at regulated medical devices under MDR or IVDR, so it belongs to the translation and market-readiness end of the health pipeline rather than early research. The ceiling is high because the work is expensive and the regulatory path is real. The call can fund up to €850,000 per project and covers up to 50% of project costs, with €400,000 to €500,000 expected to flow to the micro or small enterprise leading the work. Consortia must include at least two organisations from different countries and at least two Knowledge Triangle nodes, and the commercialising company must lead. Projects can run for up to 24 months, require IML 6 at application, and are expected to reach IML 7 by the end. The 2026 call ran from February 25 to May 6 and is now closed, with the next cycle expected in 2027. This is a strong fit for a company that already has a serious product, a regulatory plan, and enough evidence to justify a consortium grant. Applicants should be able to show clinical value, a path to CE marking, and a credible route to patient and revenue impact after funding. The best proposals combine technical maturity, clear consortium roles, and a commercial lead that can carry the project through validation and into market entry.
