This is a single-stage Research and Innovation Action funded as a lump sum; the Commission expects to fund two projects, with at least the top-ranked proposal in each area funded. Consortia may pass up to 30% of their EU contribution to third parties as grants (capped at EUR 60,000 each) to plug expertise gaps, particularly in Central/East European, Mediterranean and outermost regions.
