Pays teams up to $400,000 per phase to develop cost-effective energy storage for industrial facilities.

Phase 1 (Design) pays up to 18 winners $100,000 each to present a concept; Phase 2 (Advance) pays up to 9 winners $200,000 each to build a bench-scale prototype; Phase 3 (Validate) pays up to 3 winners $400,000 each to demonstrate the prototype, with a possible follow-on cooperative agreement with DOE's Industrial Technologies Office.
