Green New Deal
Funds Italian enterprises with soft loans and grants for ecological transition and circular economy projects.
Green New Deal is the Ministry's financing line for research, development, innovation, and, for SMEs, industrialization linked to Italy's ecological transition. It sits under the Fondo per la Crescita Sostenibile, serves enterprises of any size in industry, agro-industry, crafts, and industrial services, and also admits research bodies, with Mediocredito Centrale managing the route. Projects must run from 3 million to 40 million euro, last 12 to 36 months, and be carried out in one or more Italian local units. The application route splits by scale: sportello for 3-10 million euro with up to three firms, and negotiated procedure for more than 10 million up to 40 million euro with up to five firms. The package combines FRI soft loans equal to 60% of project costs with bank co-financing of 20%, plus grants of up to 15% for research and 10% for industrialization; resources total 600 million euro of loans and 150 million euro of grants. The thematic fit is explicit: decarbonization, circular economy, plastic reduction and replacement, urban regeneration, sustainable tourism, and climate adaptation. Applicants need a creditworthiness attestation from a bank on the CDP-convention list, so the measure suits teams that can align technical work, bank support, and multi-year execution around a clear transition project.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
