Innovation Adoption Grant

Innovation Works' Innovation Adoption Grant sits alongside the Scalable Grant in the same Manufacturing Assistance family and targets manufacturers in southwestern Pennsylvania. It is meant to help businesses adopt new technologies, processes, or equipment rather than fund invention from scratch. The award reaches up to $25,000 and reimburses 50% of approved expenses. Review is monthly, and accepted applicants work with Innovation Works on scope, timeline, and cost estimates before a contract is executed. Funding can arrive within 6-12 weeks, and projects typically run 9-12 months. Eligibility is narrow enough to reward readiness: a manufacturing business needs a significant Pennsylvania presence, must operate in or serve the nine-county SW PA region, and has to be able to float vendor costs for up to a month before reimbursement. The best applicants are those with a concrete adoption project already scoped and a clear operational reason for buying the new capability in practice.
