Scalable Grant Program (Manufacturing)
Invests reimbursement for SW PA hardware startups working with local manufacturers.
Innovation Works' Scalable Grant Program sits inside its Manufacturing Assistance offering for southwestern Pennsylvania hardware and manufacturing companies. It is built to bridge prototype development and scalable manufacturing by helping a Pennsylvania business work with a manufacturing partner in one of nine SW PA counties. The grant reimburses up to $25,000, covering 50% of eligible expenses. Applicants need a Pennsylvania base, a manufacturing partner in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Washington, or Westmoreland County, and expenses that exceed twice the reimbursement cap. The process is rolling, with Innovation Works drafting the project proposal before Investment Committee approval and reimbursement arriving on the 1st and 15th of the month. The program is operationally demanding in ways that matter: applicants must be able to front vendor costs for up to a month, complete a final report, stay current on annual impact surveys for three years, and avoid delinquent liens. That makes it a strong fit for hardware teams that already have a clear manufacturing path and want capital to move from prototype work into repeatable production.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
