JIC acts as anchor LP in domestic Japanese VC funds (venture capital track) and PE/buyout funds, providing risk capital to sectors where private LPs are reluctant to invest. As of December 2025, JIC has committed to 60 funds totalling JPY 2,542.8 billion — split roughly 23% VC / 77% PE and other. This is an equity vehicle, not a grant program. Fund managers seeking JIC as an LP investor would approach JIC directly. No public call schedule; commitments are made on a rolling/deal-flow basis.
