GreenBiz is KCIC's five-year climate enterprise program for Kenya, funded by DANIDA and delivered with KCIC. The public record places it from January 2021 through December 2025, with a target of 300 businesses and more than 3,000 full-time jobs. The programme combines grant support with technical assistance through two 12-month tracks. Incubation serves start-ups and early-stage businesses that already have a prototype, while the Accelerator gives more individualized support for growth, investor readiness, and fundraising. Eligible firms must be legal entities registered in Kenya and active in one of KCIC's five themes: renewable energy and energy efficiency, water management, agribusiness, commercial forestry, or waste management. Sole proprietorships, partnerships, self-help groups, and CBOs have to convert to a limited company within the first three months. Because the public cycle ended in December 2025, GreenBiz now reads as a closed delivery run rather than an open call. The strongest fit was a Kenyan climate SME that could use structured coaching, a prototype, and a credible growth plan to move from early traction to investment readiness. It is a good example of KCIC's model of combining business support with sector-specific climate enterprise building.
