Translational Bridge Award

The Translational Bridge Award is a Lupus Research Alliance program designed to bridge the gap between post-discovery work and pre-commercial development in lupus. It funds projects that can advance diagnostics, therapeutics, or other clinical products with direct relevance to people living with lupus, placing it squarely in the alliance’s translational middle ground. The award provides up to $450,000 over two years and runs on an annual cycle in the United States. Eligibility is centered on universities, nonprofit organizations, and research organizations, with individuals and for-profit companies excluded. The program is structured for projects that can show a credible next step toward a commercial entity or a clinical product. Applicants are strongest when they can show that LRA support will de-risk the next stage of development and sharpen the route to patient impact. The program favors proposals with a clear plan for improving diagnosis or standard of care, or for moving a promising discovery toward a product that can be evaluated in the clinic.
