Nebraska Site and Building Development Fund (SBDF)
Funds Nebraska communities with industrial site and infrastructure readiness grants for business expansion.
The Nebraska Site and Building Development Fund is the state's industrial-readiness grant route for land, buildings, and infrastructure. It is a four-part legislative program under the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and is designed to make sites ready for business investment and workforce recruitment. Eligible applicants include local development teams working with a local economic development corporation, local governments, and Nebraska 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), or 501(c)(6) nonprofits that have the required IRS status and a Certificate of Good Standing. The program covers land or building acquisition, construction or rehabilitation, site preparation, infrastructure improvements, engineering, design, planning, and other pre-approved expenses. Deadlines depend on funding availability. This is the right fit when a community has a concrete industrial site or building project and needs public support to move it toward readiness. Applicants are strongest when the project already has local backing, a clear development plan, and a direct link to business attraction or expansion.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
