Cannabis Business Development (CBD) Grant
Supports licensed New Jersey cannabis operators with reimbursement for eligible startup and operating expenses.
The Cannabis Business Development Grant is the NJEDA's reimbursement route for licensed New Jersey cannabis operators. It sits inside the authority's strategic industry support work and is aimed at active businesses that can document eligible spend already incurred in the state. The grant is fixed at $75,000 and is paid back against documented eligible expenses. It is open to Class 1 cultivators, Class 2 manufacturers, Class 5 retailers, and testing laboratories, while medicinal-only testing labs and multi-state operators are excluded. Applicants need an active annual license digital card from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission, and the program runs on a rolling basis until the funding pool is used. The best fit is a licensed operator with clean compliance records, real receipts, and a current New Jersey footprint. Because the grant is reimbursement-based, the strength of the file is in documentation: eligible expenses, licensing status, and regulatory standing matter more than pitch language or expansion forecasts.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
