MOOI — Mission-Driven Research, Development and Innovation

MOOI — Mission-Driven Research, Development and Innovation is RVO's multi-party energy and climate transition program for long-horizon collaborations under Topsector Energie. The 2026 call spans Nuclear Energy, Electricity, Industry, Built Environment, Carbon Removal, System Integration, and Biobased Circular, with a maximum grant of €4 million per project. Consortia must include at least three organisations, with research organisations required, and the work is expected to reach practical use within ten years, or within five years for Built Environment. Pre-registration ran March 17 to April 16, with full applications due June 2 to September 3, 2026. The portal is Dutch only, and there is no English equivalent for the current intake. This route suits teams that can coordinate across companies and research bodies and can explain how the project will land in practice on a credible timeline. The strongest proposals usually show a shared mission fit, a realistic pathway to deployment, and a consortium that can carry both technical development and system integration.
