New Mexico Innovation Hubs Grant

Supports shared innovation infrastructure through labs and collaborative spaces that strengthen New Mexico entrepreneurship in priority technology sectors.

The New Mexico Innovation Hubs Grant sits under the Technology and Innovation Office within the New Mexico Economic Development Department and funds physical spaces that support technology commercialization and entrepreneurship in TIO's priority sectors, including advanced computing, advanced energy, aerospace and defense systems, and bioscience. It is aimed at labs, offices, prototyping spaces, and collaborative environments, so the real beneficiary is usually an organization building shared infrastructure rather than an individual founder. FY26 distributed $2.7 million across two organizations, New Mexico Venture Studios and New Mexico Innovation Hub. The program does not publish a per-award minimum or maximum, and the total pool varies with legislative appropriation. It launched in 2025, is expected to run annually, and is tied to organizations with a physical New Mexico presence that support technology innovation. Because the grant pays for place and capacity, the best applications are likely to show how the space will serve entrepreneurs, startups, or research-driven teams over time. It is a poor fit for one-off project requests, but a strong fit for entities that can turn public money into durable local infrastructure for commercialization.
