CLIMIT Carbon Removal (CDR) Call
Funds carbon removal technologies in Norway across BioCCS, direct air capture, biochar, and mineralization research streams.
The CLIMIT Carbon Removal (CDR) Call is the first CLIMIT allocation specifically targeting carbon dioxide removal technologies. A NOK 10 million pool is available on a rolling basis in 2025 for industrial and research projects in five CDR categories: BioCCS (biological CO2 capture + geological storage), biochar for industrial/agricultural use with long-term soil storage, Direct Air Capture with geological storage (DAC+CCS), enhanced mineralization (CO2 injection into bedrock), and methodology development aligned with EU carbon removal regulations (LCA, TEA, MRV). International and Nordic collaborations are explicitly encouraged. Applications follow the standard CLIMIT process via postmottak@gassnova.no.
