WEAVE-UNISONO

Connects Polish teams with European partners using grants for bilateral and trilateral research collaborations.

The National Science Centre's WEAVE-UNISONO programme supports bilateral and trilateral basic-research projects for Polish teams working through the Lead Agency Procedure. It sits inside NCN's international cooperation work and connects Polish researchers with partner agencies in Austria, Czechia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium-Flanders. The programme uses grant funding and requires a consortium, with universities required and research organisations allowed. The Polish team registers the joint proposal with NCN within seven days of submission to the lead partner agency. Projects run for 24, 36, or 48 months, the 2026 allocation is 50,000,000 PLN, and the current window is rolling through 30 December 2026. WEAVE-UNISONO is best suited to Polish university-led teams that already have a coordinated foreign partner and can move quickly once the lead agency route is set. Applications may be prepared in Polish or English, and the programme does not allow Russian-affiliated collaborations, so applicants need a clean cross-border setup and a research plan that can survive parallel review across agencies.
