Funds PCE - Proiecte de Cercetare Exploratorie Exploratory Research Projects, romania's flagship investigator-driven frontier research grant for senior researchers at Romanian institutions.
PCE (Exploratory Research Projects) supports fundamental and exploratory scientific research at Romanian institutions. It targets senior researchers with demonstrated international recognition who wish to lead high-level scientific projects — including both Romanian citizens and foreign researchers working abroad who bring international expertise to Romania. PCE is part of PNCDI IV Program 5.1 'Idei' (Ideas). Eligibility standards for project directors are set by the National Research Council (CNCS). PCE2023 results were announced November 26, 2024; PCE2026 was in public consultation as of early 2026 with the ANC approving launch of a public discussion of the information package.
