Forskningsprojekt (Research Projects)

Connects Applied joint research projects between a Swedish HEI and industry partners replacing the former HÖG.

Forskningsprojekt (Research Projects) is KK-stiftelsen's main joint research track for Swedish universities and newer higher-education institutions working with industry. It replaced HÖG in 2025 and is aimed at applied research that links academia and companies. The grant reaches up to 4 million SEK over 1 to 4 years. Industry must co-finance at least the same amount as the foundation award, and each project needs at least two independent industry actors. Applications run annually, and the 2025 round ran from September 9 to November 28, with decisions in April 2026 and project starts between June and December 2026. The strongest proposals pair a university-led research plan with committed industrial partners who can share both cash and implementation responsibility. The structure favors projects that can show why the industry side needs to be involved from the start and how the collaboration will carry through to results. Teams that line up the co-financing early and keep the scope within a 1 to 4 year research agenda fit best.
