Grant for Centre of Excellence

VR's centre-of-excellence grant supports research environments that foster collaboration on joint themes and contribute to higher education across all scientific disciplines — humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, medicine, artistic research, and educational sciences. Up to 10 grants of 8,000,000 SEK per year for an initial 5-year period, with option to apply for a second 5-year period at 10,000,000 SEK/year. The individual researcher applicant must hold a doctoral degree and be employed at the administrating institution (minimum 20% FTE). Teams of 2–4 additional participating researchers are required. This differs from Excellence Clusters (which is organisation-level); here the lead researcher applies personally.
