Research Project Grant — Natural and Engineering Sciences

VR's flagship individual grant for researchers in natural and engineering sciences. Awards 600,000–1,400,000 SEK per year for 1–4 years on any topic within the field — no thematic restrictions. Projects start in January of the year following the call. The applicant must hold a doctoral degree and be employed at the administrating organization at minimum 20% FTE throughout the grant period. Up to 6 additional researchers with doctoral degrees may join the project team. Applications are evaluated on four criteria: scientific quality, novelty/originality, applicant merits, and feasibility — with a minimum grade of 2 or 3 in Feasibility required for funding. Applications are submitted through Prisma.
