Industry Alignment Fund — Industry Collaboration Projects
Supports strategic research collaborations where Singapore institutions and industry co-develop solutions through program partnerships.
The Industry Alignment Fund – Industry Collaboration Projects is A-STAR's rolling grant program for strategic R&D projects led by Singapore public research institutions with industry partners. It sits under the same national research framework as IAF-PP, but its purpose is more collaborative and application-facing: public institutions lead, companies participate, and the work is expected to produce commercially relevant innovation. The scheme is open on a rolling basis. Projects are submitted by institutions rather than individuals, companies cannot apply directly or join as co-applicants, and industry partners must commit cash or in-kind R&D spend. Standard projects run up to 36 months, with Corporate Labs allowed up to 60 months. Award amounts are not published on the public page, so the practical signal is process and fit rather than a fixed cheque size. The best applications show alignment with A-STAR's innovation mandate, a sector with commercialization potential, capable industry partners, and spillover benefits for the local enterprise ecosystem. The model rewards institutional coordination and a credible partnership structure more than a narrow lab-only proposal. In practice, this is a partnership grant for public research groups that can translate technical work into industry pull.
