Applications go through a two-stage process: a preliminary application assessed at recurring committee dates through the year, followed by a full application once BHF gives approval to proceed. Preliminary applications must be submitted 12 to 18 months before the study's planned start date, and BHF aims to give a decision roughly five weeks after each submission date.
