Commercialising Knowledge Assets Fund
Offers full-cost grants for United Kingdom public-sector research organisations to move knowledge assets toward practical outcomes.
CKAF funds UK public sector research establishments (PSREs), UKRI wholly-owned institutes, and qualifying public-sector bodies in moving identified knowledge assets — IP, know-how, source code, R&D outputs — towards commercial readiness. Awards of £50K–250K cover 100% of eligible costs for projects of 6, 12, or 18 months. The fund is operated by GOTT (Government Office for Technology Transfer, a DSIT-hosted body) and administered by Innovate UK on GOTT's behalf. CKAF runs two or three rounds per fiscal year. The Autumn 2026 cycle is currently open (18 May – 1 September 2026). The Spring 2026 cycle closed 7 May 2026 and is in the interview/decision phase (panel 7–9 July 2026, notifications 14 July 2026). Applicants must hold ownership rights over the knowledge asset. Universities and private companies are explicitly ineligible.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
