Government research bodies hold intellectual property, know-how, source code and designs that never reach a market. CKAF pays to move one of those towards commercial readiness. The autumn round shares £1.4 million.

Grants run from £50,000 to £250,000, over 6, 12 or 18 months.

In scope: pre-existing, identified public sector knowledge assets with a plausible commercial market — know-how, expertise, intellectual property rights for designs, research and development outputs, source code and creative outputs, as defined in the Rose Book. Technology agnostic and open to all sectors. Your organisation must own the asset.
