Funds a government-funded programme to bring unused brownfield land back into residential development across the region.
The South Yorkshire Brownfield Housing Fund is a government-funded programme to bring unused brownfield land back into residential development across the region. SYMCA received £53 million from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities since 2020, targeting at least 3,300 new homes. A further £118 million from the National Housing Development Fund was secured from April 2026. Eligible applicants are Local Authorities, Housing Associations, private sector developers and other housing developers. Applications are via Expression of Interest (EOI) form submitted to BHF@southyorkshire-ca.gov.uk. SYMCA prioritises schemes that deliver against its Stronger, Greener, Fairer principles, with brownfield innovations, affordable housing, and near-term site starts particularly welcomed.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
