The Air Dominance BAA is the newer AFRL umbrella vehicle for next-generation air dominance work under the same munitions and air warfare portfolio. Posted in October 2024, it stays open through October 2029 and carries an anticipated ceiling of up to $750 million, which gives it a long runway for follow-on topics and task orders. Its scope is broader than a single weapon component. The program spans 13 areas across modeling and simulation, aircraft integration, guidance and control, warheads, propulsion, fuzing, AI and autonomy, engagement management, and missile test and evaluation. The record places it at the procurement-contract end of the spectrum, with full-and-open eligibility under NAICS 541715 and an SBA size standard of 1,000 employees. The successor relationship matters. This vehicle follows Air Delivered Effects and runs concurrently with it, so applicants need to decide which topic set matches the work rather than treating the two BAAs as interchangeable. It is a fit for large primes, universities, small businesses, and research teams that can work inside the Air Force's topic structure and proposal cadence.
