Anthropic Fellows Program
Funds early career AI researchers at Anthropic through mentored fellowships focused on safety and alignment.
The Anthropic Fellows Program is Anthropic's four-month, mentored research fellowship for AI safety work. Anthropic is a U.S. public benefit corporation, and the fellowship sits alongside its broader effort to make advanced AI more reliable, interpretable, and steerable. The program pays a weekly stipend of $3,850 USD, or the stated GBP and Canadian-dollar equivalents, and adds about $15,000 a month in compute funding. It is open to individual researchers in the US, UK, and Canada. A PhD, prior machine-learning experience, or published papers are not required, but strong Python ability and clear technical thinking are central to the selection bar. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for cohorts beginning in May and July 2026. Anthropic uses an initial application, reference check, technical assessments, interviews, and a research discussion, and it reports that more than 80% of first-cohort fellows produced papers while more than 40% later joined the company full time.
