Research Fellowship Awards support postdoctoral IBD researchers at U.S. institutions as they build skills in basic research. Funding runs one to three years at up to $70,000 a year. The budget can include salary, fringe, and modest non-salary support for travel and memberships, and applicants must devote at least 80% of professional time to the project. MD applicants need at least two years past degree with one year of IBD research, while PhD applicants need at least one year of postdoctoral IBD research. As with the Career Development Awards, it can connect to the joint NASPGHAN pediatric IBD route, and the strongest proposals will show a mentor-backed plan tightly tied to Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis research.
