Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP)
Supports broad medical research in the United States. through a large topic-based investigator portfolio.
Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) is the largest single program in CDMRP's portfolio under the Army Medical Research and Development Command. It is funded at $370 million in FY26 across 52 research topics, and its own tagline is "Transforming Health Care through Innovative and Impactful Research." It is built to cover a wide range of medical problems rather than one disease area. PRMRP uses seven award mechanisms in FY26, including Clinical Trial Award, Platform Clinical Translation Award, Discovery Award, Impact Award, Lifestyle & Applied Health Research Award, Research Advancement Award, and Technology/Therapeutic Development Award. Deadlines are staggered from mid-July through late September 2026, and the program accepts universities, nonprofits, research organizations, and for-profit applicants through the mechanism that best matches the project stage. The best fit is a proposal that can land cleanly in one topic and one mechanism without stretching the fit. That breadth makes the program useful for translational teams and early investigators, but success still depends on matching the technical question, the award mechanism, and the submission window before the deadline sequence closes.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
