DOE Office of Science Financial Assistance Program (Umbrella FOA)

The DOE Office of Science Financial Assistance Program is the standing umbrella FOA under the DOE Office of Science and accepts unsolicited research proposals across the science office's program portfolio. It is the catch-all vehicle for work that does not belong under a narrower topical FOA, and it reaches ASCR, BES, BER, FES, HEP, NP, ARDAP, and DOE-IP. The FY2026 solicitation opened on September 30, 2025 and stays open through September 30, 2026, making it effectively a year-round entry point within the fiscal year.
