MTI's Innovation Ecosystem Development Program awards grants up to $500,000 to partner organizations that strengthen Maine's innovation economy. Applicants need not be Maine-based, but funded projects and programs must support Innovation-Driven Enterprises (IDEs) in MTI's seven target sectors within Maine. Projects can run multiple years; funds must be used within three years of award. Co-investment is required. One award per organization (departments within multi-department institutions are also bound by this limit). Collaborative applications are encouraged, and demonstrated track records and strategic partnerships receive extra consideration. Likely successor to the historical Cluster Initiative Program (CIP).
